The Mad River Valley offers miles of spectacular road cycling

Roxbury Gap Time Trial 2013

Roxbury Gap Time Trial 2013

If you plan to spend some time here during the riding season, the following is a list of popular road rides, all starting from Stark Mountain Bike Works at the intersection of routes 100 & 17. It should be noted that cyclists and motorists do get along in the Valley. Visitors to the area are urged to help maintain this positive relationship with motorists by being courteous when out on the roads. To learn more about sharing Vermont roads with motorists, please visit www.vtbikeped.org.

Please note that the difficulty ratings provided are based on local riders (folks who are accustomed to riding lots of hills!).

Group Rides

We’re hoping to revive group rides. All riders are welcome. Rides will break into A and B groups and, if there is enough interest, an easy-going C group. A-group riders will go hard, while B-groupers will typically average around 17-18mph, with stops along the way to re-group. Ride routes will be determined the day of the ride. For more info, call Peter at 802-496-5538. Non-members are welcome.

Road Only membership

We are offering a Road Only membership this year. Benefits will be limited to those offered by our local sponsors. We do hope you will consider our expanded membership option.

Note: Creating a BikeReg account is optional. Just click “Continue” after entering your demographic data if you wish to NOT create one.

Shortly after you join MRR on-line you will receive a confirmation email from BikeReg.

A credit card transaction fee will be assessed, and MRR is covering half of that fee because on-line membership saves us time, supplies and postage. It will save you time and postage too!
